Russian President Vladimir Putin flexes his muscle over the missile defense program and the inclusion of two ex-Soviet states into NATO as he hosts U.S. President George Bush and First Lady, Laura Bush.
Initially we reported that Bush may have a possibility in installing a missile interceptor in Poland, but Putin did not agree to this. He requested that Russia be able to inspect, monitor, and have equal access to both facilities in Poland and the Czech Republic. He also suggested that systems operations be run from Moscow instead of the U.S. Unfortunately Bush did not agree to this as it would violate the sovereignty of both countries.
The dinner ended well, but talks will continue.
